Dozzi is a smart baby monitor built for the parents, not just the baby. The device itself is called Dozzi Base — the quiet hub in the nursery that routes each alert to the right person. Instead of piping every sound from the nursery into your bedroom all night (and waking you both up every time your kid sighs), it listens to the room quietly and only vibrates on your wrist when something actually needs your attention. The alert is a strong, silent vibration on your smartwatch — no shrill alarms, no glowing screens, no scrolling through an app at 3 a.m.

Your Dozzi Base processes what it hears on-device and only escalates on sustained crying — a baby who's clearly awake and fussing, a real cry that keeps going, rather than a single squeak or a passing car. You can also tune how sensitive you want it to be, so a light sleeper and a heavy sleeper can share the same device without fighting about it.

On your wrist, it's a distinctive vibration — long enough and strong enough to pull you out of sleep, and silent enough that it doesn't wake the room or your partner.

No. Dozzi Base is audio-only by design. It does not record audio or video, and skipping the camera means one less thing pointing at your baby, a simpler device that's easier to trust, and fewer privacy tradeoffs to think about.

That said, we know some parents want the option to look. If you already have a Ring camera, you can connect it to Dozzi — see the next question.

If you have a Ring camera, linking it to Dozzi means that when an alert reaches your wrist, you can pull a snapshot from the camera right there on your watch — usually enough to tell "she's just rolling around" from "someone needs to go in." If you want more than a still image, you can open your phone and stream the live feed.

Setting it up takes about two minutes:

1. Make sure your Ring camera is installed and working in the Ring app. If it doesn't work there, it won't work in Dozzi.
2. In the Dozzi app, open Settings and choose the camera integration.
3. Sign in with your Ring account and approve access for Dozzi.
4. Pick the camera that's in your baby's room.

That's it — and you can turn it off again at any time from the same screen.

The integration is optional and costs $3/month, billed through your Ring account. It requires a Ring account and a compatible Ring camera, which are sold separately by Ring. Everything else Dozzi does works without it, at no recurring cost.

One thing worth being clear about: video from your Ring camera is handled by Ring, under Ring's own privacy policy and terms — not ours. Our promise that the audio stream never leaves the room applies to your Dozzi Base. If you connect a camera, that footage follows Ring's rules. We'd rather tell you that up front than let you assume otherwise. We also have a commercial partnership with Ring, and we earn a share of revenue when you use the integration — you should know that when you're weighing our recommendation.

You get your Dozzi Base, a USB-C power cable, and a power adapter. You'll need Wi-Fi, a supported phone, and — ideally — a smartwatch that pairs with it. Setup takes a few minutes in the Dozzi app.

At launch, Dozzi supports iOS on iPhone and Apple Watch (iOS 17 or newer, and Apple Watch Series 7 or newer). We are working to add Android with WearOS and hope to have it available soon.

No — but it's where Dozzi really shines. If you don't have a smartwatch, Dozzi can fall back to a phone vibration alert. It still works. You just lose the magic of a strong, silent vibration on the wrist that doesn't require you to pick up a phone. Dozzi uses the smart watch you probably already have (or want and are looking for a good reason to put on your baby registry...). If you're on the fence, start with phone-only; you'll know pretty fast whether you want to add a watch.

Dozzi Base runs on USB-C. A 5V 2A USB-C power supply and a standard cable will do the job. No proprietary bricks, no weird batteries, no surprise charging routines.

Dozzi Base is designed to sit on a nearby shelf, dresser, or any flat surface. It does not go inside the crib, ever, and should not be placed within 3 feet of the crib and we'll never sell a mount that suggests otherwise. You'll want it in a location where the mic has a clean line to the crib and isn't buried behind a pile of laundry.

Dozzi keeps listening to the room and keeps alerting paired devices over your local network. Some cloud features need internet, but your nightly monitoring doesn't fall apart the moment your router hiccups. (The Ring camera integration does need internet, since it talks to Ring's service.)

To be precise about what this does and doesn't cover: your Dozzi Base still needs power and still needs your home network running. If your router itself is off, phones and watches can't receive anything.

The important work happens on the device itself. Dozzi's core event detection runs locally on your Dozzi Base — audio is processed on-device, and it sends small, lightweight alert signals to the cloud, your phone, and your watch, not raw audio. The audio stream never leaves the room — ever.

If you choose to connect a Ring camera, video from that camera is handled by Ring under Ring's privacy policy. That's a separate system with separate rules, and connecting it is entirely your choice.

Not by default. Dozzi ships with algorithm contribution set to off. If you want to help make Dozzi smarter for other families, you can opt in from the app, and you can change your mind at any time. We'll tell you, in plain language, what contributing actually shares and what stays on your Dozzi Base.

No. Dozzi is a monitor, not a medical or diagnostic device. It's not a substitute for safe sleep practices, pediatric advice, or your own good judgment. If you have a medical concern about your child, please talk to your pediatrician — we're rooting for you, but we're not them.

Not for the core Dozzi experience. The monitoring, the wrist alerts, the routing between caregivers, the local processing — that's what you pay for once and own. No monthly fee, no feature that stops working if you don't pay. Dozzi itself never bills you again after you buy the hardware.

A traditional video monitor hands you a screen and expects you to do the watching. That's fine in theory, but in practice it means you're either glued to it or ignoring it, not resting — and when it alerts, it alerts both of you.

Dozzi takes a different bet: the sound of the room is enough to tell a calm baby from a distressed one, and a silent alert to the one parent whose turn it is beats a feed that wakes you both. If you do want a picture, you can connect a Ring camera you already own and pull a snapshot to your watch. The difference is that you're choosing to look — not being handed a screen and told to watch.

Wearables put sensors on your baby. Some parents love that; others find it stressful, fiddly, or full of false alarms. Dozzi keeps the sensors on the device and your baby un-instrumented. It's also a one-time purchase for a piece of hardware that doesn't need a new size every six months.

A basic audio monitor just pipes every sound from the nursery into your bedroom. Cheap, simple, and we respect it — but it means every squeak, every sigh, every diaper rustle is projected through the receiver and becomes everyone within earshot's problem, and you all learn to sleep poorly to compensate. Additionally, your audio is available to anyone nearby on the same frequency, or vulnerable over the internet.

Dozzi uses the same kind of input, but the audio stream never leaves the nursery. When an issue occurs, it notifies you silently and alerts only the designated parent, not the whole house. Same sensor, more precision and more privacy.

A lot of modern monitors are built around giving you a high-resolution picture of your baby. Dozzi solves a different problem: how do you get more sleep tonight. Dozzi silently alerts just the designated parent and allows the other to continue sleeping. Dozzi does this while not exposing the privacy of your nursery.

Fair. You shouldn't, not automatically. What we can tell you is who we are, why we built this, and what we will and won't do.
