Dozzi Base — the one that wakes the right parent.

Every other baby monitor answers one question: is the baby crying? Dozzi answers the harder one — whose turn is it? It listens to the nursery, and when your baby genuinely needs someone, it wakes exactly one of you. The other one sleeps through it.

• Wakes one of you, not both. Alerts go to whoever's turn it is — by turns, by schedule, or by whoever's sleeping lightest. The other one sleeps through it.
• The audio never leaves the room. Your Dozzi Base listens and decides on the device itself, in the nursery. No audio is recorded, no audio is uploaded, and there is no live listen-in — so there is no way for us, or anyone else, to hear your house.
• Pay once. No subscription required. The first 100 units ship at $229 with a lifetime warranty — $275 after that. Either way, every core feature is included for good: no monthly fee, and nothing stops working if you never pay us again. The one optional extra is the Ring camera link — $3/month, billed through your Ring account.

How it works

1 · Set it up once. Your Dozzi Base sits on a dresser, shelf, or nightstand — anywhere flat and at least three feet from the crib. Connect it to your Wi-Fi in the app and you're done.

2 · Both parents get on the same page. You each install the Dozzi app and pair your Apple Watch. This is what makes Dozzi different from every other monitor on the shelf: it knows there are two of you, and it knows which one is which.

3 · Choose how you'll split the night. In the app, pick an alert mode — and change it whenever life changes:

• Alternating — You take turns. Dozzi wakes one of you this time and the other one next time, automatically — so neither of you has to keep score or remember whose turn it was.
• Schedule — You're on duty from 10 PM to 2 AM. Your partner takes 2 AM to 6 AM. Dozzi handles it automatically so there's no ambiguity and no negotiation.
• Smart — Dozzi reads each parent's heart rate and movement against their own baseline — plus who's had less sleep and who answered last. The parent best positioned to wake up gets the notification — the other sleeps through.
• All Caregivers — Sends alerts to everyone monitoring simultaneously. Choose it on the nights you want everyone woken together.

4 · Go to sleep. Your Dozzi Base listens, and only escalates on sustained crying. You can tune the sensitivity to match your household.

5 · One wrist buzzes. Not both. A distinctive vibration on your Apple Watch — long enough and strong enough to actually pull you out of sleep, and silent enough that it doesn't wake the room. No alarm tone. No screen lighting up at 3 AM.

The audio never leaves the room

Your Dozzi Base has a microphone, so it is fair to ask where the sound goes. The answer is: nowhere.

The listening and the decision-making both happen on the device itself, in the nursery. Sound is analyzed as it arrives and discarded on the spot. What actually travels over your Wi-Fi is that a cry happened and how loud it was — a number, not a sound.

• Analyzed on the device. Cry detection runs on your Dozzi Base, in the room. The sound itself is never shipped off somewhere else to be listened to or understood.
• No audio is stored. No audio recordings exist — not on your Dozzi Base, not on our servers, not in a log.
• No audio is streamed. There is no live listen-in feature, by design. There is no way for us, or for anyone else, to hear your house.

Helping improve Dozzi's models is opt-in and off by default. And if your internet goes out, your Dozzi Base keeps listening and keeps alerting paired devices over your local network.

Why the Apple Watch matters

A phone on the nightstand has to make noise or light up to wake you — which wakes your partner too, defeating the entire point. Your wrist doesn't. A vibration reaches exactly one person.

The watch does something else, too. It's already tracking your sleep stages every night. In Smart mode, Dozzi uses that to make a genuinely better call than either of you could make half-asleep: waking someone out of light sleep costs far less than dragging someone out of deep sleep. Dozzi knows which of you is which, in the moment, and routes accordingly.

Dozzi works without a watch — you'll get vibration alerts on your phone instead — but the watch is where it's at its best.

The app

The Live screen shows what's happening right now: which mode is running, who's currently on duty and until when, and whether your partner's device is connected and monitoring. The Blueprint screen is where you set your mode and shift times. Insights shows you how the nights have actually been going over time.

Dozzi itself is audio-only. But plenty of parents already have a camera in the nursery, and sometimes you want to look before you get up.

If you have a Ring camera, you can link it to Dozzi in about two minutes. When an alert reaches your wrist, pull a snapshot from the camera right there on your watch — usually enough to tell "she's just rolling around" from "someone needs to go in." If you want more than a still, open your phone and stream the live feed.

This is the one place video enters the picture, so to be precise about it: the live feed streams directly between your phone and Ring and never passes through Dozzi's servers. Dozzi briefly holds the latest still so your watch can show it, and deletes it when you disconnect the camera. Skip the integration and there is no video anywhere in Dozzi.

You can turn it off any time. The Ring integration is an optional add-on for $3/month, billed through your Ring account. It requires a Ring account and a compatible Ring camera. Everything else Dozzi does works without it, at no recurring cost.
